So if you didn't know during the summer Russia decides to dig up all their water pipes and clean them out. (Apparently they have the "hardest" water in the world, I'm not really sure what that means, but it's what I've been told.) In order to do this, they cut off hot water in various parts of the city for a few weeks. Luckily for us they cut it off the day before we left for St. Petersburg but they aren't turning it back on until tomorrow. This means I have been fortunate enough to experience 3 cold showers. And by cold I mean like ice being thrown at your body.
Today we woke up and started classes again. I found out I made 100s on both my language test and my culture test, so I'm off to a good start!! I also had to memorize a Pushkin love poem in Russian and recite it in front of the whole class today, it went a lot better than I expected. My language skills are constantly increasing and I'm enjoying my small conversational victories!
Last night after dinner at McDonald's we ventured over to the apteka, which is like Russian CVS or Walgreens, and I found Disney's Tangled in Russian for less than $5!!! For those who don't know Tangled is by far my favorite movie and this was quite a deal!!!
Tonight I am going to see a production of Chekov's play,The Seagull, which I studied Spring semester in my Euro 446 class. Tomorrow I have another Culture test so hopefully I will have time to study and get some sleep in tonight! Love you all :)

You eat more McDonalds in Russia than you do in the US. Russia is going to make you an obese American.
